Very first and most important thing is to clearly define who your potential customers are. Then find out where they are most likely to be found and finally, target those areas with your campaigns Everything else anyone tells you before this, is just so much confusing, extra slop, if you don't do these key3 things in that exact order.
I might add, if you are using on line websites to market, build your site low tech enough so the LOWEST common denominator visitor will have no problem with quick loading. For example, you don't want to lose a potential great customer, just because he has an old Windows 95 or 98 (version 1). that takes forever to load FANCY graphics are nice, but can mean lost sales.. If you want a good a example of easy viewing with low tech graphics all can view and load, visit my site at http://cybermoneymap.com
