hardship loan out for the home purchase in order to pay for my closing. Can I safely do that while it is under review with the copywriters? I have already supplied them with my financial statement from last year so they have all of that already but will they request an updated statement? I don't want to be denied my 100% financing.

I believe the other poster was correct in stating the you mean "underwriting". When a loan is in underwriting, they are looking at all the current information that was provided to them in order to help determine whether or not you are qualified.

If in fact any of the terms changed. Meaning, that rather than showing your 401k balance at 10,000, it is now going to be affected by the loan you are going to hold against it. Then the application, and all other information is going to have to be "updated", to reflect the new changes.

Speak with your loan officer, broker or banker. Explain to them what is going on, so that they can change the paperwork. Otherwise, this will postpone your loan, because underwriting will have to underwrite or review the loan once again.

Also, keep in mind that when you are purchasing a home. Your agent should have written into the offer a condition that the "seller agrees to pay up to 3,000 or 3% of the purchase price for closing costs". If your buyers agent didn't write that in, then they are not doing a good job of negotiating for you.

First, I think you mean underwriters and second this is a big guess but is the "hardship loan" you are referring to coming out of your 401k or retirement plan?? I've done retirement plan administration for about 5 years, and people often took loans or hardship withdraws from the plan but they also confused the term as "hardship loan", when they are really two different things. Please clarify and I'll be glad to help.
