Read "Ogilvy on Advertising" by David Ogilvy. He was a copywriting genius. This book is an excellent guide for new and seasoned copywriters and not at all like a textbook. It's more like a one-on-one session with a mentor.

How do you go about copywriting a piece of artwork? Is it costly to do?
