The impact of Google’s new paid search ad layout on organic search

The real impact of Google’s new paid search ad layout on organic search

Cashflow Copywriting Marketing Google search

Over the years, the Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) have changed a lot. Features like news, images, videos and the Knowledge Graph have impacted the display, sorting and order of SERPs, dramatically impacting organic listings.

Recently, Google decided that paid search ads will no longer appear on the right-hand side of search results for desktop users globally, and up to four paid search results will appear at the top of the page (up from a maximum of three previously).

My take on this…

Google has just removed the right Side Advertising because they don’t show up on mobiles. They must believe this won’t affect their income stream, since there are now less, advertisers paying  to show up.

It will be harder to show up in Google organically because there less space as more advertisers have been added to the bottom of the page.

You end up paying more to get your ads to show up.

Sensis Mocks Online Marketing Advice In New Spot From Isobar

Sensis has launched a new B2B content marketing advertising campaign (1)

Sensis has launched a new B2B content marketing advertising campaign today, poking fun at the often ridiculous advice small businesses receive about online marketing.

Created by Isobar and directed by John Pace, ‘Don’t ask Susan’ consists of seven online videos, starring ex-Blue Heelers actor Julie Nihill as the lead character, Susan.

My take on this…

After Watching this ad it’s clear why Sensis is struggling when it comes to Online Marketing.  It’s probably why I get at least one phone a Sensis Rep trying to convince they can get me on the first page of Google. There still trying to apply the old Yellow pages advertising to the web. Which just don’t work.

7 Tips to Leverage Videos for Your Small Business

Are you using videos to showcase your small business? Video marketing can boost your small business website in many unique ways. If you dislike writing, producing videos is an great alternative to writing blogs. Videos will boost your analytics, especially if you use a brief written description. It’s a quick way to get information across in lieu of reading. Here are 7 proven tips to use videos for your small business:

1. Video Testimonials are Pure Gold Leverage video in your customer testimonials on your website. Let your customers do the marketing for you. Be sure to get them to talk about how your brand has helped them. Also ask them to highlight the specific results you have delivered so that visitors to your site can get a better sense of your value. If done right you can turn your customers into an unpaid sales force for your business.

My take on this…

People love watching video.

  1. According to ComScore, 45.4 percent of users viewed at least one video online over the course of a month.
  2. YouTube reports mobile video consumption rises 100% every year.
  3. 90% of user say that seeing a video about a product is helpful in the decision process.
  4. More video content is uploaded in 30 days than all three major U.S. T.V.  networks combined have created in 30 years.

The Best Leaders Have the Best Systems

Grow your business with business systems

Leaders are difference makers. They are catalysts who make positive things happen with available people, ideas, and resources. Which is why the world judges leaders first on what they actually accomplish, not the quality of their ideas or the strength of their vision. Strategy is important, innovation is important. But in the long run, a leader has to be somebody who knows how to get things done.

Unfortunately not many leaders have strong “get it done” skills. In a December 2015 Harvard Business Review article, three  authors described the pitiful results of a survey of almost 700 executives. “Only 16% of top leaders were rated very effective at either strategy or execution.” And only 11% were rated very effective in executing their strategy.

My take on this…

If you want to scale your business then you need systems. McDonald’s manage to runs a multi-billion operations because they teach the kids working there systems.

Don’t wing it write it down. Share it in your business then Improve it.
